The innovation unit at Beta-i arises from the accumulation of experience, knowledge and quality network acquired over a period of more than six years working with startups and entrepreneurs. It aims to transfer this know-how to companies through its proprietary methodology called LEAN Innovation.

Acceleration programs as well as intra-entrepreneurship initiatives bring new methodologies and innovative processes to large companies. Applying the modus operandi of startups to large firms, increases the range of innovation, performance and agility, making companies successful.

Amorim Cork Ventures Beta-i Startups

A 2 month acceleration program for the most innovative startups with a cork related idea.

Deloitte Digital Disruptors Beta-i Startups

A startup acceleration program by Deloitte Digital supported by Beta-i focused on digital solutions to disrupt insurance industry.

Protechting is an accelerator focused on insurance powered by Fidelidade & Fosun and supported by Beta-i. Under the motto “build a future made of timeless ideas” startups were challenged to find innovative solutions to 4 main challenges: healthcare, savings, services, and protection.

  • 35 coaches and mentors from client involved

A program designed to Upgrade Lisbon’s city life with the contribute of startups using open data. It was initiated by Lisbon Municipality together with Portugal Telecom, Cisco, Startup Lisboa, Turismo de Portugal and Beta-i.

Corporate acceleration concept

Vertical accelerators supported by Beta-i represent the unique opportunity to deliver tailored programs addressing specific pain points within a specific Industry and across a given sector.

With the objective of field testing startups solutions, by delivering a vertical accelerator companies become clearly attractive for startups, increase their internal culture through (open) innovation, develop the needed structure to integrate new solutions and become more attractive to international clients.

Startup Scouting

Active startup scouting to find and attract those that best match the program’s requirements. Followed by an evaluation and selection process to determine the top 25 startups that move on to the Bootcamp.


A one week intensive entrepreneurship program for the top 25 startups where their business model and value proposition is re-shaped to match the partner’s business needs.



A 7 weeks program with internal training and innovation tools for the best 15 startups. They get in contact with top mentors and specialists and there’s a matching between business, tech opportunities and startups.

Open Innovation & Integration

The most promising and selected few (5 startups) that provide the most value to a given business are led through an integration program fully dedicated to field testing startup solutions.

Innovating through Entrepreneurship

Nestle DAT (Digital Acceleration Team) takes part on Beta-i’s Challenge Accepted program where we ask big corporations to conceive and design new products and services around customer opportunities, build intrapreneurship skills, innovate the startup way and create an organizational culture of innovation and prototyping.

Chronopost, a member of the French La Post Group and a leading express shipping and delivery service, was backed up by Beta-i on their own innovation project. We provided mentorship, access to relevant training sessions and workshops as well as matching between Chronopost and our network of over 200 mentors and startups.

AKI and Beta-i started working together in 2016 with the objective to foster innovation and intrapreneurship within AKI and its collaborators. In 2017 the company wanted to push the innovation spirit forward promote a culture of intrapreneurship in a regular basis and connecting with startups in a more formal and friendly way throughout the year.

Training corporations in core concepts of Innovation

Beta-i is cooperating with the leading aeronautic manufacturer in the world to disrupt the aeronautical industry through  the Airbus BizLabs, based in Toulouse, Hamburg and Bangalore. The BizLabs are open innovation centers where startups and internal innovation projects work together to develop new products and business models.

Innovation Mind Labs are the training sessions that prepares the future managers of EDP as well as the trainees to be more creative and innovative. Using the latest tools and frameworks, raising the skills of problem-solving, and making sure trainees will be able to be independent and pro-active with upcoming challenges.
