Project Description

Newsletter | 11.02.2016

Hey << Test First Name >>,

It’s all coming together now… It’s not just Silicon Valley, London or Berlin.

Lisbon’s tech community is getting out there (the new open data platform is going to shake things up), Portugal is on the map for its startup scene (the Portuguese Startup Manifesto will definitely emphasise it), the European startup scene is growing, and 2016 is just getting started.

Go ahead and check out what we’re talking about below.

Cheers,
Maria and the Beta-i team

Main highlights

PORTUGUESE STARTUP MANIFESTO: JOIN THE MOVEMENT

The Portuguese startup scene is on the map and this manifesto will take it even further.

Join this movement by sharing your ideas for the manifesto, that will be presented at the European Commission, using the hashtag #PTstartupmanifesto.

Let’s convince the policy makers to take action and grow our startup scene, from Portugal to the world. Find out more about it here.

LISBOA ABERTA / OPEN LISBOA: AN INNOVATION LAB IN LISBON

The Municipality of Lisbon has just launched their new open data platform for the city of Lisbon, that is now available online, for anyone to access.

With this in mind, the Municipality of Lisbon, together with Beta-i and Portugal Telecom, will launch a program, with 10 startups, that wants to transform Lisbon into an Open Innovation Lab, using the data provided in the open data platform.

Stay tuned, as we’ll let you know more about this soon.

PROTECHTING IS KICKING-OFF WITH 20 STARTUPS

Protechting by Fidelidade & Fosun, the accelerator that wants to help bold entrepreneurs who want to change the world by protecting others, is starting its Bootcamp next week.

Meet the 20 selected startups that will join the Bootcamp, for an intensive week of workshops and mentoring. After this first week, we’ll choose the 15 finalists that will join the program.

DEVELOP YOUR OWN STARTUP PART-TIME WITH BETA-I

For those who have a business idea but can’t yet do it full-time, we want to help you get it off the paper and make it happen. Many great companies started off as side-projects, right?
