About

Are you interested in disrupting the tourism industry, meeting some of the top players and getting to know the next big trends? Then, join us for another edition of Tourism Day.

Remember our last edition of Tourism Day at Pestana Palace? Well, we’re having another edition this summer at Mercado da Ribeira, on June 28. So, you better bring your bathing suit, because it’s summer, and it’s Lisbon, and we’re celebrating it. Okay, maybe not your bathing suit, but definitely your sunglasses.

Lisbon is one of the trendiest travel destinations in the world. We’ve had over 3.5 million tourists last year, coming from all over the world, and Tourism Day is here to once again talk about how this booming industry is shaping our world, and how we can best take advantage of it.

We’ll have speakers from Airbnb, Turismo de Portugal, Everything Is New, Lisbon City Hall, and many other organisations. We’ll talk about hot topics within the industry such as sharing economy, the powerful role of culture, smart cities and much more.

Join us for another Tourism Day, organised by Beta-i in partnership with Turismo de Portugal, and hosted by Airbnb.

Venue

Mercado da Ribeira is one of the oldest markets in Lisbon and the main food destination since 1892. Last year it was taken over by Time Out Lisboa and it has now a modern approach to stalls offering food and traditional local products. You can still get a feel of the old market downstairs from 6am to 2pm where all the fresh products are sold, but it’s now more than that: an attractive, fashionable venue to host a variety of events and a great meeting point for friends to visit stalls from top chefs while assisting some concerts or enjoying art exhibitions.
